Karaoke is something fun people like do with their friends. Lyrics will appear on a screen, and the background music of a song will play while you sing. People all over the world engoy this. You can rent karaoke rooms with your friends for a certain amount of time to have fun and sing.
Malls are a little different in Japan than they are here. For example, the sizes of they malls in Japan are much larger than the ones we have here. Most of which have multipul floors. Here, we tend to think two floors is huge. The malls in Japan have a lot more stores due to the size, and are usually filled with more people. There are many more employees to make sure customers have a good shopping experience. Ex: elevator attendant ladies.
Geisha's tend to get a bad reputation from a lot of Canadians and Americans. Not that we really have any information to base our opinions on, but many seem to think Geishas are prostitutes and strippers. That accusation is very false. Geishas are entertainers that are paid to play instruments, dance, recite poetry, and do other things that do not resemble any sexual acts.
Musicis of course very popular in Japan. A very popular genre in the Japanese music industry is J-Pop (Japanese pop). Some of the music played in Japan is in English though too. J-Pop is a more Western style of music. Western music, and military marches became very popular in Japan.
